His research interests include forecast information sharing and transparency, and innovation in supply chain management, competitive strategies under operational constraints, economics of information technology and cybersecurity, and release strategies in the motion picture industry.\nShin has been published in numerous top academic journals, including Management Science and Operations Research. He won the best paper award of Conference on Information Systems and Technology for the paper “Cloud Computing: Implications on Software Network Structure and Security Risks” with his co-authors. He is a recipient of and Lieberman Fellowship from Stanford University. He also won over ten teaching awards from University of California, San Diego, including distinguished teaching award, and a core teaching award from Northwestern university.\nPrior to joining the Rady School, Shin was an Assistant Professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
