Director, Various Companies\n\n\n\n\n\nJulia R. Brown\nJulia R Brown is a member of the board and past chair of Corporate Directors Forum. She is a member of the board of directors of American Gene Technologies International and previously served on the board of directors of nine other development stage pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical companies. She has chaired the compensation committees of five public companies. She also serves on nominating and governance committees.\nJulia is chair emerita of the board of trustees of the UC San Diego Foundation. She is a former member of National Association of Corporate Directors and Women Corporate Directors, and currently serves as a member of the board of Cleantech San Diego, an industry association, and a member of the National Advisory Board of the Union of Concerned Scientists.\nFrom 2000-2003, Julia was executive vice president of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and served as advisor to the CEO until 2008. Prior to joining Amylin, Julia was executive vice president of Dura Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Julia spent over 25 years with Eli Lilly and Company in progressively more senior roles. From 1992-1994, Julia was senior vice president of IVAC Corporation and general manager of its Vital Signs Division (a Lilly subsidiary). She was vice president of Worldwide Marketing for Hybritech (another Lilly subsidiary), and led global marketing from 1986-1992.\nIn 2016, Julia received the Hugh Friedman award for the Corporate Directors Forum Director of the Year awards. In 2014, UC San Diego’s Alumni Association honored Julia as Honorary Alumna of the Year. In 2012, she received UC San Diego’s Chancellor’s Medal for distinguished service to the university. In 2010, Julia received CONNECT’s award for “Distinguished Contribution to the Life Science Innovation.” She was a winner of the San Diego Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business” award in 2006. In 2005, Girl Scouts San Diego named Julia one of “San Diego’s 10 Cool Women.” Julia has twice been honored in San Diego’s “Tribute to Women in Industry.”\n\n\n\n\n\nChief Executive Officer and Director, ResMed\nMichael “Mick” Farrell\nMichael “Mick” Farrell was appointed ResMed’s CEO and has served as a director since March 2013. He joined the company in 2000, serving as president of the Americas region from 2011 to 2013, senior vice president of the global sleep apnea business unit from 2007 to 2011, and various senior roles in marketing and business development. \nBefore joining ResMed, Mick worked in management consulting, biotechnology, chemicals and metals manufacturing at companies including Arthur D. Little, Sanofi Genzyme, DowDuPont, and BHP Billiton. \nMick serves on the board of directors of ResMed, the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and Zimmer Biomet (NYSE: ZBH), a multibillion dollar public company that provides implantable musculoskeletal medical devices for patients globally. He is also a member of two committees at Zimmer Biomet: Nominating and Governance as well as Compensation and Management Development. He also volunteers as a trustee for non-profit organizations: UC San Diego Foundation, Rady Children’s Hospital, the La Jolla Playhouse, and Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego, California. \nMick holds a bachelor of engineering with first-class honors from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Science in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChairman and Chief Executive Officer, Histogen Incorporated\nRichard Pascoe\nRichard W. Pascoe has been a director and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Histogen Incorporated since January of 2019.\nMr. Pascoe joined the Company following the merger of Apricus Biosciences Inc. and Seelos Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Pascoe was the Chief Executive Officer of Apricus from March 2013 until joining the Company. Prior to Apricus, Mr. Pascoe was with Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he served as the Chief Executive Officer.\nPrior to joining Somaxon in 2008, Mr. Pascoe served as Chief Operating Officer at ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to ARIAD, Mr. Pascoe held a series of senior management roles at King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (acquired by Pfizer Inc.), including Senior Vice President positions in King’s international and hospital commercial business units. Prior to King, Mr. Pascoe held commercial roles in the hospital pharmaceutical and medical device groups at Medco Research, Inc. (acquired by King), COR Therapeutics, Inc. (acquired by Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc.), and B. Braun Interventional.\nMr. Pascoe is a member of the board of directors of KemPharm, Inc., as well as a member of the company’s audit and compensation committees and its lead independent director. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Seelos Therapeutics, Inc. where he chairs the audit committee. He is also a member of the board of directors of Biocom, California’s leading advocate for the life sciences industry, and the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, a charity for military veterans.\nMr. Pascoe served on active duty as a Commissioned Officer with the U.S. Army’s 24th Infantry Division to include one combat tour in Iraq earning several awards and decorations including the Bronze Star Medal. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received a B.S. degree in Leadership.
