  Carol C. Lam is the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of California, and for more than a decade was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Qualcomm Incorporated in San Diego, California. She currently chairs the Audit Committee for the Board of Directors of Stanford Health Care. Carol has served as a trustee of Stanford University, where she chaired the Committee on Audit, Compliance and Risk, and as an independent director of a publicly traded pharmaceutical company. Carol was a judge of the Superior Court in San Diego County from 2000 to 2002; prior to becoming a judge, she was Chief of the Major Frauds Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego. Carol received the U.S. Department of Justice Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and the Director’s Award for Superior Performance as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. During her long legal career, Carol was honored as one of California’s Top 100 Attorneys and as one of California’s Top 75 Women Litigators by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, and was chosen as the Outstanding Attorney of the Year by the San Diego County Bar Association. Carol received her BA from Yale University and her JD from the Stanford Law School. After graduating from Stanford Law School, she clerked for Judge Irving Kaufman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Matt also has expertise in the drug royalty space, having advised clients on numerous drug royalty transactions involving many different transaction structures and with aggregate proceeds in excess of $2.3 billion.
