    Sheila Bangalore is a board member and former public company C-level executive with global business experience spanning public and private multinational health, technology (B2B/C) and specialty materials businesses for more than 20 years. Presently, Ms. Bangalore serves as a non-executive director for Games Global Limited, a high-growth tech company, where she chairs the Risk & Compliance Committee and serves on the Audit, Compensation and Nominations Committees; a Board Advisor to Paloma Health, a digital thyroid-focused healthcare company, and a Venture Partner at Springtide Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investment in cutting-edge healthcare technology businesses. Previously, Ms. Bangalore served as Chief Strategy Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MP Materials (NYSE: MP), a regulated specialty materials company she helped take public in 2020. MP’s IPO raised $545 million in capital. At MP, Ms. Bangalore promoted sustainability and optimization strategies towards while overseeing legal, compliance and corporate governance on behalf of the company. Prior to MP, spent over 15 years in senior business roles with an eye on growing and scaling businesses at Zappos.com, Aristocrat Technologies, and Bally Technologies. Ms. Bangalore received her MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; her Juris Doctorate from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis; and her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Tufts University.

    Matt Bush is a Corporate partner in Latham & Watkins’ San Diego office. He represents life sciences and technology companies, ranging from startups to publicly held corporations. He is a sought-after advisor in transactional matters ranging from company formation through maturing growth and exit strategy, which includes day-to-day guidance, venture financings, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, SEC disclosures, corporate governance, and aftermarket capital raising. Mr. Bush is the former Chair of the San Diego office’s Corporate Department. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Bush was a manager with Accenture, where he assisted clients with business process reengineering and enterprise software implementation.

    Mike Bellin is a Partner in PwC’s Deals practice and leads PwC’s IPO services practice, with nearly 25 years of experience advising clients with capital market transactions and through complex accounting and reporting issues across the globe.

    Mike advises clients looking to access the capital markets, by providing clients with technical and project management advice on accounting and financial reporting issues associated with the SEC registration process, initial public offerings, SPAC mergers, direct listings, debt and equity offerings, and divestitures. Mike helps clients both with their registration process and with the process of preparing to operate as a public company. As a result of his extensive experience with IPOs, he frequently takes on the role of an “IPO Advisor” to help his clients both with their initial registration process, and also with the process of preparing to operate as a public company.

    During his career, Mike has worked several hundred IPOs and similar transactions, for both large, as well as IPOs of many smaller and mid-cap privately-held companies for private equity and other sponsors. In recent years many of these companies have gone public through a Direct Listing or a SPAC transaction. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and has written many articles and publications on the IPO process and how companies should prepare. He has worked across all industries, and more recently with an emphasis on fast growing technology, software, ecommerce, fintech and consumer / retail companies.

  • Gavin Lightner
    Gavin Lightner
    Director, Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services, PwC

    Gavin is a Director in the Deals Practice at PwC. Specifically, he works in the Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) group which helps clients with financial reporting and accounting intricacies surrounding capital raising and complex transactions. His deals experience includes IPOs, SPACs, direct listings, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, secondary offerings, and debt offerings. Additionally, he helps companies navigate the technical complexities around GAAP change (ASC 606 and ASC 842), purchase accounting, commercialization, consolidation, stock compensation, and financial instruments. As a member of the PwC Deals team, he works with strategy, diligence, valuation, tax, and integration colleagues to assist clients throughout the continuum of closing their significant transactions. His focus is primarily in the pharma life science, technology, and consumer products sectors. Prior to joining CMAAS, Gavin was part of the PwC’s Core Assurance Team for three years, focusing on clients in the life science, technology, and consumer products space.

    Gavin is a CPA and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, with a major in accounting and finance and a minor in mathematics. He is married and lives in Encinitas. He enjoys spending time playing volleyball and surfing as well as serving at his local church, Seacoast Community Church.
