The Board’s Mission: Finding the Right CEO

One of the most important responsibilities of the board of directors is finding the right CEO, regardless of the stage in which the organization may find itself. A great CEO for one stage of a company’s growth might not be the right fit as circumstances shift. The organization’s success depends on the board’s ability to match the skills and expertise of a potential CEO with the challenges that individual will be facing in the role.

  • How can board members strike a balance between “playing it safe” and practically ensuring stability, versus “playing it too safe” and potentially stifling innovation and creativity?
  • How can the ability to lead in today’s complex and public-facing environment be determined?

Our expert panelists will discuss the impact of selecting the right CEO to ensure that all stakeholders feel motivated and inspired to continually strengthen the organization and enhance its long-term performance.
