To prepare directors for the increasingly complex challenges of the boardroom, the Corporate Directors Forum will host a Governance Academy on May 16-17, 2016 at the University of San Diego. This comprehensive two-day training course is designed to expand boardroom competencies, confidence and personal networks.

Led by nationally respected directors and boardroom leaders, “The Essentials of Corporate Directorship” is essential for aspiring and new directors and serves to keep even veteran members current on the ever-expanding responsibilities of directorship. C-level management, general counsel, key board advisors, business leaders and any individuals who may be involved in the boardroom experience also benefit from this hands-on course.

2016 Course Leaders:

  • Michael J. Berthelot; CEO, Mission Manager Inc.; director, Fresh Del Monte Produce Company, Mtelligence Inc
  • Julia R. Brown; Chair, Corporate Directors Forum; director, Biodel; former director, Targacept, Tanox, others.

“We believe better directors create better boards, and our purpose is to help directors be even more equipped to thrive in an increasingly complicated, regulated and rapidly changing business climate,” said Linda Sweeney, executive director of Corporate Directors Forum. “This program is a great opportunity to invest in yourself as it emphasizes hands-on education and peer-to-peer dialogue in an elegant, academic setting.”
